About Accu-measure, Inc.

Accu-Measure is located in Lenexa, KS (a suburb of Kansas City) and was incorporated in 1997. The company’s founder, Monte Mitchell, started the business while caring for his 2 year old son as a stay-at-home dad and doing home improvement projects for his wife. During one of the “honey-do” jobs he got frustrated with the inaccuracy of taking “inside” measurements with a tape measure. His solution to the problem was to invent a new measuring device that simply telescoped between 2 points for quick and easy to read measurements. With his wife’s help, a prototype was made of cardboard and then of plastic.

Monte contacted the tool buyer at Wal-Mart who offered to take a look at his new invention. The Mitchells made the trip to Bentonville, AR where he met the buyer. Well, as they say, the rest is history! The buyer liked the “Measuring Stick” and on-the-spot agreed to stock the product in 1,900 Wal-Mart stores. The Measuring Stick, and the company name, Accu-Measure, Inc. were thus born.

Monte then turned his attention to a long-reach pole saw. While watching a tree trimming crew working in his neighbor’s yard, he noticed them climbing up into the trees to cut the branches. He recognized that his neighbor could have saved a LOT of money if they had their own long, lightweight pole saw that could cut the same branches while standing safely on the ground.
After extensive research, he found the right components to assemble a 21 foot, lightweight, quality pole saw. Monte test marketed the pole saw by personally traveling to hundreds of golf courses in Florida and Myrtle Beach, NC. This was an overwhelming success!

Accu-Measure now sells directly to the consumer via the internet. Doing so reduces our costs…cost savings that we pass on to you.

Our pole saws are in demand because of the great price, the long length (now a 27’ model), how lightweight they are and their versatility. No other competitor lets you trim trees, paint your house, wash windows, change light bulbs, etc., ALL with the same pole. The Accu-Measure pole saw is a truly unique product.
